Retail, Wholesale Business

retail wholesale businessA retail business sells goods to the end-user. A wholesale business typically sells goods to be retailed by others. A form of wholesale called "cash and carry", on the other hand, draws characteristics of both. Like retail, customers settle the invoice in cash (not on credit) and carry the goods away themselves. Like wholesale, goods are sold in large quantity from a warehouse. A few examples of retail and wholesale businesses include: convenience store, department store, factory outlet store, discount store, specialty item retailer, online retailer, warehouse club, food service distributor, industrial supply wholesaler, etc.
