Its just a matter of time until serious Cuba business opportunities start to present themselves. Currently, Cuba is largely a centrally planned economy dominated by state-run enterprises. While some foreign investment and private enterprise exists, capital investment is restricted and requires approval by the government. Giving a glimpse of the future, limited reforms that expand opportunities for self-employment have been introduced in order to increase enterprise efficiency and alleviate serious shortages of food, consumer goods and services. Most recently, the Cuban government also affirmed their intent to legalize buying and selling of private property, allow private home construction and capital improvements, another step towards free enterprise.
