Africa Business

Africa remains the poorest and most underdeveloped continent in the world. While there are many reasons for its extreme poverty, ranging from corrupt governments, high levels of illiteracy and military conflict, the continent still holds exciting prospects for Africa Business. Africa, after all, is a continent abundant in natural resources. Africa has almost 90% of the world’s cobalt, 50% of its gold, 90% of its platinum, 70% of its tantalite, 98% of its chromium, 64% of its manganese, 33% of its uranium, as well as large, untapped reserves of oil and gas. Data now suggests that some parts of the continent are experiencing significant growth, even in light of a slow down in developed economies. While unbalanced (favoring nations with oil and mineral deposits), even a small amount of growth in a continent of over one billion people can mean a windfall for an African business positioned in the right sector.
